I am writing to express my strong support for SecUrban Living and its continued work to strengthen public safety and community resilience throughout Columbus.

As a Columbus City Councilmember, I understand that creating safer neighborhoods requires collaboration among residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and law enforcement. I also understand these issues from personal experience. In navigating security concerns involving my own home and responding to perceived threats, I have firsthand experience with the uncertainty, stress, and practical challenges that individuals and families can face when trying to assess risk, improve security, and determine the appropriate response.

That experience has reinforced for me the importance of having trusted professionals who can help individuals and organizations understand their security needs, implement effective solutions, and coordinate appropriately with law enforcement and other public safety partners. SecUrban Living provides precisely that kind of practical, community-centered support.

SecUrban Living’s work demonstrates the important role that community-based partnerships can play in supporting law enforcement and improving neighborhood safety. Law enforcement officers cannot be everywhere at once, and effective public safety depends in part on communities having the tools, knowledge, and relationships necessary to identify concerns and provide useful information when incidents occur.

My own experience navigating security concerns has also reinforced my belief that safety solutions must be accessible, responsive, and grounded in real-world circumstances. SecUrban Living understands that security is not simply about installing equipment; it is about helping people and organizations understand their vulnerabilities, make informed decisions, establish effective protocols, and build relationships that can be relied upon when concerns arise.

For these reasons, I am pleased to offer my strong support for SecUrban Living and encourage consideration of the organization in funding and partnership opportunities. I believe their work has the potential to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to safer, stronger neighborhoods throughout Columbus and beyond.
