To whom it may concern:

The Columbus City Attorney’s Office has enjoyed a positive experience in collaborating with SecUrban Living.

My office’s Property Action Team files nuisance-abatement lawsuits against owners of problem properties, including those that host drug activity. SecUrban Living’s work to equip neighbors with surveillance cameras has been invaluable to these efforts. SecUrban has collaborated with homeowners, community organizations, and businesses, to shine a light on crime and make our neighborhoods safer.

In 2025, SecUrban Living provided evidence directly to the City Attorney’s Office that showed apparent drug-trafficking activity at a multi-unit apartment complex on the west side of Columbus. This evidence formed a critical portion of the City’s case against the owner of eight properties, several of which hosted nuisance activity. Ultimately, my Office’s Property Action Team succeeded in securing an order from the Franklin County Environmental Court requiring that the owner undertake specific mitigation to prevent these nuisance conditions from recurring.

Previously, SecUrban Living has:

  • Provided footage depicting drug and prostitution activity at a 15-unit apartment building, leading to a successful nuisance abatement lawsuit;

  • Provided footage depicting drug sales at a four-unit apartment building, leading to the recovery of narcotics by police and the vacating of those apartments after a lawsuit by the Property Action Team.

SecUrban Living and its community partners have provided evidence to police, leading to successful prosecutions, in many more instances. The organization has an effective model of equipping neighbors with the tools needed to gather evidence.

Thank you for considering support for this valued organization in the City of Columbus.

Sincerely,

Zach Klein
